The Gift that keeps on giving….
This Sunday is Mother’s Day and it reminds me of how much my mom gave her blood, sweat and tears to our family. In my early years I was largely oblivious to the sacrifices she made for my good – but after moving away to University I came to my senses and wrote a deeply moving and thoughtful poem that I gave to her one Mother’s Day many years ago. Here it is.
“M” is for the MANY things you do for me.
“O” is for the OTHER things you do for me.
“T” is for the THOUSAND things you do for me.
“H” is for the HUNDRED things you do for me.
“E” is for EVERYTHING you do for me.
“R” is for the REST of the things that I hadn’t thought of before that should be included in this list but never did earlier so its an all-inclusive thing…….that you do for me.
Put them all together and they spell “MOTHER”.
It brought tears (of laughter) to her eyes.
So this weekend the weather will do many good things for us due to a ridge of high pressure that will build over the West Coast and bring us beautiful conditions.
Friday: Sunny, light winds except for some mid afternoon breezes (especially if you are near the water) Highs of 16 C although cooler near the water.
Saturday: The same as Friday, except warmer as the air mass heats up – so expect highs of 21 C although cooler near the water as there will be a good sea breeze.
Sunday: The same as Saturday, but add thin cloud that will move past through the day. Highs of 21 C although cooler near the water.
This weekend – be the gift that keeps on giving.
